1. Pick Your Theme – I love to go big or go home! Get a little jazzy and have fun with the Great Gatsby, Blues Brothers or an Ancient Greece theme. The theme will include any colors, time periods, characters or other specifics to your vision to the party. Polka dots, stripes and colors can be a great simple choice if you’re unsure.

  1. Set Up the Backdrop – Pick a spot with even lighting or make sure you can work your flash. Your backdrop can be simple, like a solid wall or sheet based on the colors from your theme. Or make something more festive and fun by hanging garland, streamers, fabric or even balloons from your background or ceiling!

  1. Provide Photo Props – Gather your feather boas, wigs and fake mustaches for your guests to adorn themselves with! Adding a chalkboard and signs are also a fun way for your guests to personalize their pictures. If you really want an unforgettable photo booth, add some confetti for your guests to throw!

  1. How are your guests going to get the photos? – If you have a Polaroid, instant prints are no problem! Other options are to print them on the spot or share them online at a later date. If you don’t want your guests to have the option to print, then just upload them to Facebook to share. Shutterfly may also be a great option for your guests to easily view and print photos.

  1. Have FUN – Let yourself have fun! Make it easy and set your camera on a tripod, test the lighting beforehand and you can take the pics yourself or let your friends do it own their own! That’s the fun about a photo booth, the pictures don’t have to be perfect. They just need to capture a fun and silly moment between party guests!
